The new two storey building provides home‐wares chain Dunelm Mill with 55,000 square‐feet of accommodation for 150 Head Office staff.
The Trend Building Energy Management System controls all of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Mixed‐mode ventilation provides energy efficient heating and cooling. Staff are prompted to utilise natural ventilation with conditions are favourable, simply by opening windows, and roof vents and a solar chimney are automatically controlled. However, in hot or cold weather windows are closed and the mechanical ventilation is utilised to maintain comfort conditions.
