The refurbishment of this 1970’s building has turned it into one of the most sustainable Leisure Centres in the country, with all of its heat coming from a renewable source.
Built on the site of the original 1872 outdoor baths, the new facility provides a 25m pool, splash zone, sauna and steam rooms, dance studio, gym and weights room.
IBMS installed the TREND Building Energy Management System which controls all of the buildings heating, air conditioning, ventilation and pool temperature.
District Heating is sourced from a nearby strawburning power station, which otherwise would have gone to waste in cooling towers.
